Lain's Hobo Guide to Making the Vorpal Blade by lain578 Lain's Hobo Guide to Making the Vorpal Blade by lain578
Some people asked me how I made my Vorpal Blade at Supanova, so I made a tutorial. It's a hobo tutorial though, because I basically just used whatever I had lying around the house. I literally made no new purchases for this, so I'm actually pretty proud, all things considered. I know it's not the best tutorial, Vorpal Blade, or whatever. This is more for me than anyone else.

The last photo of me is taken by Regan (aka. :iconalchemyallstars:)

Yo, I know this is around a year old, but my sister is making an Alice cosplay and is wondering what Mod Podge is and what it does. If you could answer this, that would be brilliant. Thanks! :)

I used Mod Podge as a sealer/finisher so that the paints and markets don't rub off, and to add a sheen to the whole thing. It is widely available in Australia, but I'm not sure what the equivalent is elsewhere. Their website is here: www.plaidonline.com/mod-podge/… . Hope that helps!

Thank you for sharing your process with us. :) Most of the other tutorials I came across for making a Vorpal Blade involved cutting and carving wood....Yeah, I'd probably lose a finger or two doing it that way. xD lol With your tutorial though, I think I can actually make this, so thank you! ^^

I don't know why this doesn't have more recognition than it does, this is fantastic! Exactly what I'll do for my vorpal blade!

Better not exactly! LOL, If you have enough foam core, you might want to do the blade base with that instead of corrugated plastic, because you'll get a smoother blade edge and surface. Other than that, it should work fine. Best of luck, and thanks for commenting! <3
